Professor Hansen¿s research and teaching interests include legislative politics, interest groups, state-level institutions, and representation in the U.S. His research falls at the intersection of institutions and behavior, and focuses on how Americans¿ beliefs and interests translate into government action through public opinion, elections, lobbying, and descriptive representation. His work has appeared in the American Political Science Review and the Journal of Politics.
