Cristian L. Paredes is primarily interested in the influence of immigration on several social dynamics in US metropolitan areas, and in the multidimensionality of the ethno-racial condition in Latin American contexts of mestizaje (Spanish for ethnic/racial mixture). He uses sociocultural perspectives to study ethnic and racial issues in the United States and Latin America. He is a native Spanish speaker.
