Description	College caters to the needs of the poor and the marginalized sections of the society in South Tamil Nadu. Recognized by UGC and affiliated to Manonmaniam Sundaranar University (MSU), Tirunelveli. Became autonomous in 1987 and the only institution in the MSU region to have been awarded the status of "College with Potential for Excellence". The NAAC assessed and accredited the college in 2000 at "Five Star" level. In 2006 Re-Accredited with 'A' grade. In 2012, Re-Accredited with 'A' grade with a CGPA of 3.50. So far SXC is the only institution in the MSU region to have been awarded the highest CGPA. The college offers 42 programme options under Choice Based Credit System. There are 10 Research Departments. 4 international journals published every year. Outreach programme (STAND), student-centred teaching-learning process, online examinations, skill-based electives with horizontal mobility and add-on courses for skill development are some of the best practices of the college.
