Description	This affiliated First Grade College of the Bharathidasan University was established in 1844. It was affiliated to the then Madras University in 1869. The Collegecelebrated its centenary in 1944, sesquicentenary in 1995 and was re-accredited by NAAC with A+ Grade in 2006. It was recognised by the UGC as a College with Potential for Excellence. It has conducted 16 UG, 21 PG and 13 M.Phil. and Ph.D. programmes in different disciplines.
