| Description | University of the Pacific was founded on February 28, 1962 by a group of businessmen interested in promoting higher education to benefit the country and educate its youth. One of the university's founding entities was the Jesuit Community, which is valued for its contributions and apostolic work. University of the Pacific (UP), located in Lima, Peru, is a non-profit academic institution. The university offers internationally recognized degrees and programs in economics and efficient management of companies and institutions. UP aspires to contribute to economic development and well being in an increasingly interconnected world. Its graduates are competitive in a globalized world and demonstrate a vocation to excellence.
