Description |
The Pontifical Faculty of Theology of Sardinia, founded in 1927 mainly for the education of Sardinian seminarians. Since 1971, the faculty was moved from the little town of Cuglieri to the regional capital of Cagliari, where is still situated at foot of the park of Monte Urpinu. Since then, it has been opened also to laics: men and women who want to deepen the theological knowledge in relation to the Christian thought and to the complexity of the current cultural reality. The Faculty of Theology is the only theological academic centre of education in the island of Sardinia. Its activity of research in human and theological knowledge is put in constant dialogue with the two Sardinian Universities of Cagliari and Sassari, and other cultural institutions of the island. The Faculty confers a degree which is equalized to other public universities and valid for civil uses. Many courses pay a particular attention to the historical development of Sardinian culture and society. |
