Join Club Français this Tuesday, March 26 at 5:00pm in Kasbeer Hall (15th floor of Corboy Law Center at the Water Tower Campus) for Africa on the Move: A Conversation with Alain Mabanckou. Alain Mabanckou, an accomplished novelist, poet, and essayist will discuss his role in combatting neocolonialism through writing from an African perspective. In 2006, he was awarded one of the foremost literary prizes in France, the Prix Renaudot, for his novel *Mémoires de porc-épic* (Memoirs of a porcupine), and in 2016, he was the first writer to be named chair of artistic creation at the Collège de France. Recently, M. Mabanckou rejected a position in French President Emmanuel Macron's Cabinet, refusing to support neocolonialist policies in the African francophonie. Join us, the Délégation de la France à Chicago, and M. Mabanckou for an important conversation with lots of free food (and cheese !)
