On Thursday, November 12, at 6:00 p.m. (CST), we are holding a virtual reception with some of our DACA medical students and alumni to celebrate their journey and their future.

We will have a DACA alumnus who is finishing residency and a current DACA medical student share a little bit of their stories and what they are accomplishing. They¿ll be joined by a few distinguished guests who will talk about the impact of Stritch¿s leadership. Speakers include American Medical Association General Counsel Brian Vandenberg, JD, former Trinity Health CEO Rick Gilfillan, MD, and our own Dean Sam Marzo, MD.

Twenty-four of Stritch's DACA alumni are now residents; several have received national attention in venues such as the Washington Post and from the American Association of Medical Colleges for their work on the front lines of the pandemic. We are currently educating eighteen more DACA students at Stritch.
