In 2019, New York State passed the nation's most ambitious climate law, the Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act, or CLCPA. The law also contains the nation's most substantive environmental and climate justice provisions. The CLCPA's mandates, including broad goals for clean generation and energy efficiency, have profound implications for the state's infrastructure. Raya Salter will provide an overview of the law, its justice provisions and what it may mean for New York.
This lecture is the third in a year-long series on the Social Impacts of Environmental Injustice, presented by Loyola University Chicago School of Law's Environmental Law Society (ELS) in cooperation with the Black Law Students Association (BLSA), Latinx Law Students Association (LLSA), and Asian and Pacific Island American Law Students Association (APALSA).
