Bring in the goats! Farmer perspectives on cultural and environmental change in mountain Norway.

As part of the Anthropology Department's speaker series on Climate Change, this lecture by Drs. Thea Strand (LUC) and Michael Wroblewski (Grand Valley State University) discusses their work on a new project focused on discourses of changing landscapes, agriculture, tourism, and climate in Valdres (Norway) mountain regions.

Dr. Thea Strand is Senior Lecturer in Anthropology at Loyola University Chicago. Her primary research explores the relationships among dialect use and change, tourism development, and cultural heritage in rural Valdres, Norway. Dr. Michael Wroblewski is Associate Professor and Chair of Anthropology at Grand Valley State University. His recent book, Remaking Kichwa, addresses language revitalization and indigenous identity in Amazonian Ecuador.
