Loyola University Chicago's Office of Global and Community Engagement is excited to continue its Forum on Global Affairs series: What are we Learning from the War in Ukraine? Please join us on March 22nd at 12PM CST for another panel discussion in the series titled: Poland and Ukraine's Historical Encounter with the Russian Empire. Maciej Olchawa, the Kosciuszko Foundation scholar at Loyola University Chicago, will lead the discussion. He will be joined by Professor Michael Khodarkovsky, who will discuss Russia as an empire and provide a wider context of its imperial designs toward Poland and Ukraine, and Dr. Pawe¿ Markiewicz, who will explain the regional cooperation between the former peripheries of the Russian/Soviet empire and how Kyiv and Warsaw are overcoming their difficult past to undermine a common adversary.
