    The Loyola University Chicago community will celebrate the life of Lynn Boyle, LCSW, CADC, clinical assistant professor in the School of Social Work, who passed away on July 18, at a memorial service.

    During her six years at Loyola, among the many significant contributions Professor Boyle made to the school and social work profession was her successful sponsoring and launching of Loyola¿s first certificate program in substance abuse, The Illinois Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Professional Certification Association, Inc. Advanced Accredited Training Program, which prepares social workers to become Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselors (CADC). Professor Boyle was also committed to outstanding student education and led a group of students on a study abroad trip to Beijing, China.

    In her many practice roles, Professor Boyle was at the forefront of social work interventions in the HIV epidemic in Chicago and served as a reviewer for the Journal of HIV/AIDS and Social Services. Professor Boyle will be greatly missed for her outstanding and unwavering commitment to excellence in service, teaching, and social justice.
