    Shaker Programs

    Thomas Queen, an expert in the material culture of the Shakers and American folk string musical instruments, will lecture about the Shaker legacy. He has curated several museum exhibitions, including Appalachian Strings: The Instruments, Their Makers, The Music at the Decorative Arts Center of Ohio and Golden Threads: The Stories Behind the Needle, a comprehensive exhibition of Shaker textile arts in Pleasant Hill, Kentucky.

    Argo Tea and will be served as an intermission between this program and the following lecture at 3:00 p.m. Admission includes both programs and tea this afternoon.
