    Shaker Programs

    Loyola's Department of Fine and Performing Arts (DFPA) and School of Communication co-present a new performance of choreography and multimedia inspired by Shaker art and culture and performed in LUMA's exhibition galleries. This piece is a collaboration between Amy Wilkinson, DFPA Instructor of Dance, and Aaron Greer, Director of Loyola's Film and Digital Media Program. Created with the support of the Center for Interdisciplinary Thinking in the College of Arts and Sciences at Loyola University Chicago.

    Performances will take place on Tuesday, March 17, and Saturdays, March 7, 14, 21, and 28.

    Amy M. Wilkinson is a dance maker, teacher, collaborator, and mentor with a dynamic multifaceted career in dance performance and education fields. She specializes in program development, with a focus on community enrichment through the transformative power of art. Wilkinson holds an M.Ed. in Higher Education from Loyola University Chicago where she is currently a full-time lecturer. Her work has been performed at local, national, and international venues including the Ravinia Music Festival's Rising Stars Concert Series, Dance Chicago, The New Prague Dance Festival, Nanjing China Normal University, and The Istanbul Festival of Music and Dance. In the spring, Wilkinson will be leading a group of Loyola students to Vietnam for a collaborative performance with the International Choir and Orchestra of Ho Chi Minh City.

    Aaron Greer is the director of Loyola's Film and Digital Media Program and an Associate Professor in the School of Communication. As a filmmaker, Aaron has created a number of projects with and about performing artists, including A Night in the Theatre, Ballet Noir: the Tango, Frequency, and Flying Away, a dance documentary broadcast on public TV across the country.
