All are welcome to attend *Caring for our Common Home: Conversations on Ecology and Justice (on 9/9/2015)-- an event dedicated to exploring Pope Francis' landmark encyclical Laudato Si'. In the morning, we will have scholarly papers/presentations and conversations on the encyclical's six sections. These reflections will be given in the IC at Lakeshore. As for the rest of 9/9: in the early afternoon, we will to move to a more local (and colloquial) focus. For this, a town hall/conversation model is planned-- one where people can engage one another about what have we done, where are we going, and what the challenges are--specifically in a local sense, but with an eye on macro issues as well. At 1:30 PM, we will unveil *Loyola 2025*-- LUC's climate action plan; at 3PM, a panel of Loyolans from across the disciplines (and campuses) will explore public policy, globalization/global health, humanitarian care, and public theology in light of Laudato Si'. The day concludes with a Teach-In (along with some performance components) from 4:30-6:30PM in the West Quad. All events are at our Lakeside Campus.
