    Dr. Patricia Kay Felkins will retire in 2015 after 37 years of teaching at Loyola University Chicago, including three years at the John Felice Rome Center. Dr. Felkins is the founding director of the advertising and public relations program in the School of Communication and has served an integral role in the school¿s development.

    Dr. Felkins has had many accomplishments over the years including:

        Developing the communication internship, the Ad/PR capstone and the public service communication courses.
        Authoring or co-authoring five books about organizational and nonprofit communication and public relations, including her most recent book, The Nonprofit Factor: Gathering at the Table for the Common Good.
        Co-founding the Africa Circle of Hope Foundation, a nonprofit that supports women and children impacted by AIDS and poverty in East Africa.
        Coordinating the SOC Africa Project with Loyola film faculty to establish an annual filmmaking workshop for youth from the Nairobi slums.

    After retirement, Dr. Felkins will continue her commitment with Africa Circle of Hope to facilitate educational, vocational and entrepreneurship programs in Kenya.
