Join the Loyola University Chicago community in honoring the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. on Wednesday, January 27, 2016. The founders of the #Black Lives Matter movement, Opal Tometi, Alicia Garza, and Patrisse Cullors are this year's MLK Celebration speakers. Our special guests will speak about the creation of a renewed civil rights movement in the age of social media engagement as well as address the ways the Black Lives Matter movement is calling for an examination of systemic oppression.

An evening program will be held at the Lake Shore Campus in Damen Student Center, Schmidt Multipurpose Room from 5-7pm followed by dinner from 7-8pm.
