The High School Digital Storytelling Workshop is a six-day, hands-on workshop hosted by the School of Communication (SOC) at Loyola University Chicago for rising high school juniors and seniors interested in communication.

Students from across the country visit Loyola¿s Water Tower Campus for a week of intensive digital media and journalism training. Participants spend the mornings in classrooms learning the basics of audio, video and reporting before hitting the streets of Chicago¿s ethnic neighborhoods to put their newfound skills to the test. A dedicated portion of the week involves exploring these neighborhoods and putting together packages to tell the stories of the people and places of our city. Students stay in the residence halls on our Water Tower Campus, DJ live on our campus radio station WLUW 88.7 FM, produce a newscast in our Convergence Studio, and explore Chicago events in the evenings. Taught by School of Communication expert instructors and mentored by Loyola undergraduates, students will leave the week with an exposure to emerging technology, university life, and digital media skills.
