Activating Missionary Disciples: The Lay Volunteer Journey

Our parishes face shrinking budgets, insufficient access to skilled staff and declining parishioner participation and contributions. Pope Francis encourages us to ¿renew our church¿ by building community through the activation of our parishioners as missionary disciples. The challenge is how to do this while balancing the other day-to-day demands on busy parish staff and leaders. The answer lies in moving our parishioners from the pew into becoming active volunteers. The process is a series of steps to connect parish needs with parishioners¿ God-given gifts and effectively manage and retain your new volunteers.
