    The First South Asian Womanhood and Girlhood Conference will be held on October 28 and 29, 2016 at Loyola University Chicago Lake Shore Campus on the theme of Transition of Identity. The conference aims to showcase the experiences of women and girls, transitional identities, and inform global and political sensibilities about their power as an emerging resource in this millennium. South Asia, comprises India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bhutan, Myanmar, and Afghanistan. The conference is an interdisciplinary undertaking and includes academic and practice presentations, dances, drama, documentaries, and a networking reception for scholars, practitioners, policy makers, and students in its day and a half of programming. The Conference also provides South Asian meals as part of the registration.
