    1L Mandatory Civility Program - Monday, January 30, 2017

    Civility in the Profession: Building a Community of Legal Professionals

    First years, please mark your calendars for a Mandatory Programming event on Monday, January 30, 2017 from 12:00pm-2:00pm. A distinguished panel of speakers will address the continuing need for civility in the legal profession, and what civility means for legal professionals.

    Speakers include:
    Prof. Josie Gough, Director of Experiential Learning
    Hon. Judge Young B. Kim, United States Magistrate Judge for the Northern District of Illinois
    Michelle Silverthorn, Diversity and Education Director, Illinois Supreme Court Commission on Professionalism
    Melissa A. Smart, Litigation Manager and Senior Counsel, Illinois Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission.

    Attendance is required, and the event will take place in 1040, the Power Rogers and Smith Ceremonial Courtroom. An alternate viewing of the program will be offered to those students with approved class-scheduling conflicts.
