Please Join the Student National Medical Association in celebrating Black History Month with speaker James G. Mendez, PhD presenting A Fight to Heal: A Short History of African American Physicians.

The history of African American physicians in the United States has been about overcoming racial and economic barriers that made it near impossible to become educated, trained, and practicing physicians. Dean James Mendez will review that history and focus on the amazing accomplishments of black physicians in the last 150 years of U.S. history. It's story of remarkable achievements to overcome adversity and to serve and heal a nation.

All are welcome. Food will be served.
