14th Annual Norman C. Amaker Retreat
    Law, Resistance, and Social Justice
    Friday, March 31, 2017
    8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

    Philip H. Corboy Law Center
    25 E. Pearson Street, Chicago
Power Rogers & Smith Ceremonial Courtroom

The Amaker Retreat aims to capture the spirit of our late professor, Norman Amaker, who fought alongside leaders like Thurgood Marshall and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. to transform the social justice landscape by challenging racial discrimination during the civil rights era. Our goal is to support the future generation of public interest lawyers. By increasing awareness of inequalities in the community, we hope to inspire students to embrace social justice values.

Join us for this year's Amaker Retreat, Law, Resistance, and Social Justice, which will address timely issues in areas including immigration, criminal law, voting rights, and environmental justice. Cornell William Brooks, president and CEO of the NAACP, will deliver the keynote address.
