Scholars, writers, artists, activists, students, educators, and community members will come together in Chicago, Illinois, on Loyola University Chicago's campus on Saturday, March 28th, 2020 to engage in social change and critical conversations about what it means to step into your power as a Black person, or how empower/be an ally to the Black community. The conference will include lectures, hands-on working sessions, as well as significant time for conversation.
We envision this conference as part of an ongoing conversation about the national Black Lives Matter movement, and not as a beginning, an end, or the last word. It is our hope and intention that participants bring with them the vital work they are already doing, and carry away tools and resources to continue to do that work in their own communities.
