Join us for a reading of ¿Oak Street Beach,¿ an original work by Chicago playwright Barbara Georgans.

It¿s the summer of ¿69 and a sexual revolution is in full swing in Chicago. But this ¿Summer of Love¿ takes a dark turn for June, who turns to drinking and drugs to cope. June leans on her pals, Patty and Bess, who are confronting problems of their own. Even though the world is changing, it¿s still hard to be a woman in late 1960s America. Can the friends make a difference, or is it just a spit in the lake?
