Research has shown that Specification Grading is an innovative assessment best practice for experiential learning classes. It¿s both practical and tested approach to grading that can demonstrably raise academic standards, motivate students, tie their achievement of learning outcomes to their course grades, save faculty time and stress, and provide the reliable gauge of student learning that the public and employers are looking for. Join the discussion with other faculty about innovative approaches to grading that retain rigor, connect to learning outcomes, address issues of implicit bias, and motivate students to learn and excel. The group will discuss Specifications Grading: Restoring Rigor, Motivating Students, and Saving Faculty Time by Linda Nilson.
