On October 18th, the Addiction Medicine Interest Group, CCGH, and SWAG is hosting a world-class expert on addiction. Dr. Anna Lembke is Stanford's Director of Addiction Medicine and has been a key player in making big pharma companies responsible for the opioid epidemic. She has written two books: Drug Dealer, MD (addressing the opioid epidemic), and Dopamine Nation (released just a few weeks ago!). She also appeared on the groundbreaking documentary, *The Social Dilemma* released last year.
Dr. Lembke will be addressing us on how to have a conversation with someone dealing with substance use and how to help our future patients. Additionally, she will be discussing coping mechanisms for medical students and physicians. We will also be hosting a Q&A at the end of the meeting.
