Are you a science educator for grades 7-12? Are you concerned about the rising tide of misinformation about science and hoping to educate your students to learn how to avoid it?

If this sounds like you, please join us Saturday, February 11th from 9a.m. to 2p.m. on Lakeshore Campus for a half-day conference, Addressing Science Communication and Misinformation in the Classroom. The event is sponsored by Loyola University Chicago and Critica, a non-profit organization that counteracts misinformation and helps people make evidence-based health decisions.

    At this conference you will:

Learn more about misinformation, how it spreads, and what works to counteract it
Develop practical skills to counteract misinformation in the classroom and beyond
Practice making lesson plans that teach students the realities of the scientific endeavor and how to resist misinformation
Learn about the new Illinois Media Literacy Standards and consequences for the science classroom
Plus, teachers can earn Continuing Professional Development Credits (CPDUs)

More details on room location coming soon.
