The discussion around ethical production generally focuses on environmental sustainability, leaving behind the workers who make our clothing. With 1 in 6 people globally in the garment manufacturing industry, and 80% of those workers being women of color, apparel production is a social justice issue. The Catholic Ethical Purchasing Alliance (CEPA) provides resources to Catholic institutions seeking to support workers and integrate environmental sustainability into purchasing decisions that align with their Catholic identity, mission, and values. Featuring Alayna Milby, Ethical Purchasing Program Coordinator at Ethix Merch and Grace Adams, Catholic Ethical Purchasing Coordinator at Ignatian Solidarity Network.
