Context and Experience in the Ignatian Pedagogy Paradigm: Listening to Our Students
Ann Marie Ryan, FCIP Faculty Fellow 2017, School of Education

How might the Ignatian Pedagogy Paradigm support culturally sustaining pedagogies? In this session we will explore the element of context and experience within the Ignatian Pedagogy Paradigm and how it connects with culturally sustaining pedagogies (CSP). CSP are teaching practices that promote and support the cultural identities and heritages of our students as we teach academic content. We will examine those pedagogies and how they also offer a contemporary way of living out the Ignatian mission at Loyola University Chicago.
