Loyola's Family Business Center is partnering with DePaul's Chicago Family Business Council to showcase Taking Stock, an award-winning documentary that shares the story of two men and the complications they face in the business of family.
Clive Stillerman is the son of a Polish immigrant and the owner of Benoni Discount Stores, a home goods shop owned by his family since the 1940s. What was once his beloved business that withstood divorce, recession and social change, Clive now jokingly refers to as his *Empire of Dirt.* His son, Ben Stillerman, would be the emerging third generation owner. Instead he became a documentary filmmaker, and his family's crumbling business became the subject of his film.
