For students interested in exploring careers in education or social services, consider touring Midtown-Metro Achievement Center. Midtown-Metro offers after-school activities to children within the Chicagoland area. Their programming provides guidance for academic excellence, character development and parental engagement.

This tour will take place in the Monsignor Thiele Center of St. Aloysius Parish, 1510 N Claremont Ave, Chicago, IL 60622. Students will come to the Thiele Center Board Room and will hear from staff at Midtown-Metro regarding the organization. This will provide the chance for students to hear their mission and what led staff to work there and will also hear from each panelist about what we do in our day-to-day to fulfill the functions needed to run our organization.

Ideally students will hear both from one or two of Midtown and Metro's staff as well as a couple of folks from our outreach and advancement team. After the panel is over, students will be dismissed. Those who choose to remain longer will be offered the chance to tour our facilities and to see parts of our Wednesday night program in action. This is a great opportunity for students interested in careers based in education, or working for a non-profit.

For Loyola students at the Lakeshore campus, take the Red Line up to North and Clybourn and from there, take the 72 bus to Harlem until the North Avenue 7 Oakley stop. For students coming from the Water Tower Campus location, they could take the Red line north from the Chicago stop to North/Clybourn and then take the same 72 bus.

To participate in the tour, your resume must be uploaded to your Handshake profile no later than Friday, April 5, 2024. Please login to Handshake; navigate to your profile; select Documents; upload a PDF of your resume; make sure to select ¿Feature on my profile¿ or ¿visible¿ (if viewing your list of documents).
