    This seminar given by Professor John Frendreis will discuss the development of corn-based ethanol as a significant biofuel. Some of the
    issues considered include the role of public policy in promoting corn-based ethanol, the evolving understanding of the environmental benefits and costs of ethanol, the relationship between food prices and ethanol use, how the framing of this issue has changed over time, and the competing political coalitions seeking to continue or end the Renewable Fuel Standard
