Guest Facilitator: Lauren Yurman, CAS Advisor
    Topic: Teaching English Abroad

Studying abroad and working abroad were two of the best decisions I have ever made and I very much encourage all students to seek out a global experience. As a first-generation college student, I was not only the first in my family to graduate from college, but also the first to travel outside the U.S. While a college student, I studied abroad for a semester in Singapore and after graduating I worked as an English teacher in South Korea for two years. My family was quite nervous about my world travel, especially since they had never been outside the U.S. themselves. However, it was important to me to gain a global perspective, so I worked through the challenges I faced and made study/work abroad a reality for myself. Now, I can't imagine my life without these experiences. I'd love to share my story with you and answer any questions you may have!
