    Please join the CHRC and Faculty Fellows, Amy Krings and Tania Schusler, for a brown-bag seminar on Environmental Justice and Youth Organizing. Environmental pollution disproportionately affects communities of color and low-income communities. Exposure to environmental toxins, noise, poor quality housing, and inadequate green space can negatively affect childrens development. Environmental justice aims to ensure that everyone enjoys equal protection from environmental hazards, can access and influence environmental decision-making, and benefits from a healthy environment in which to live, learn, work, and play. Professors Amy and Tania describe how communities are organizing to shift power relationships and influence land use. They emphasize the role of youth in organizing for environmental justice.
