Based on events during the Algerian War (1954¿62) against the French government in North Africa, the film exemplifies Italian surrealism and documents the revolutionary sentiment of the era. Directed by Gillo Pontecorvo. 2hr. Post-film conversation with Professors Suzanne Kaufman (History) and Julia Elsky (Mod. Lang./Lit.).
The 1968 Series is co-sponsored by the Departments of History, Modern Languages and Literatures, Theology, Political Science, Film and Digital Media, the College of Arts and Sciences, the Ramonat Seminar, and the University Libraries.
