Details
New Student Convocation is a celebration of university life and the academic traditions of Loyola. Convocation is an annual tradition where all new students (first-year and transfer) officially begin their academic careers as Ramblers. Students are welcomed to the university community by the President, Provost, faculty, staff, student leaders, and a special guest.
New Student Convocation traditionally consists of three parts:
Walk and Welcome Tunnel: a processional of new students from East Quad to Gentile Arena
New Student Convocation: new students hear from the President and other special guest and are welcomed by the faculty
Small Group Discussions: informal conversations led by faculty, staff, and student leaders about the transition to academic and student life at Loyola
