Please join us on April 13th at 12PM CDT for another panel discussion in the series. Olga Avdeyeva, Associate Professor and Director of the European Studies Program at Loyola University Chicago, will lead the discussion. She will be joined by Dr. Maria Snegovaya, Senior Fellow with the Europe, Russia, and Eurasia Program at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, and a Postdoctoral Fellow in Georgetown University's Walsh School of Foreign Service.
In this webinar, Dr. Snegovaya will discuss the consequences of the international economic and financial sanctions on the Russian economy and the Russian elites focusing on the mechanisms of resilience to international pressures. She will also cover the effects of the war on Russian society highlighting the growing totalitarianism of Putin's regime. Finally, Dr. Snegovaya will analyze Xi Jinping¿s visit to Moscow and discuss the possible consequences of this visit on the outcome of the Russian-Ukrainian war.
