*Stacked Decks: Building Inspectors and the Reproduction of Urban Inequality*
Presenter: Robin Bartram, Assistant Professor of Sociology, Tulane University
Description: Though we rarely see them at work, building inspectors have the power to significantly shape our lives through their discretionary decisions. *Stacked Decks* illustrates the uphill battle inspectors face when trying to change a housing system that works against those with the fewest resources.
CURL Friday Morning Seminars are held regularly on Friday mornings during the academic semester from 10:30am until 12:00pm. Loyola faculty, students, staff, community members, and guests are welcome. These seminars are a time for CURL graduates, undergraduates, staff, and community members to discuss their thoughts and experiences with community-based initiatives and/or relevant research.
