Enjoy some popcorn, watch great cinema, and have dessert while supporting a great cause!
The Edgar Awards: A night at the cinema followed by an after-party where guests will enjoy hot chocolate and dessert from a local Chicago bakery! Filmmakers show their best short films and compete for The Edgar Awards. Contestant films will be followed by a screening of *Kiribati,* a mini-documentary about the impact of rising sea levels on a resilient island nation. Edgar Awards will be given to four films: Best Drama, Best Comedy, Best Environmental Film, and Best Picture.
This event supports The Kiribati Project, an education and documentary initiative produced by professional and student filmmakers. You can learn more at thekiribatiproject.com.
(Filmmakers interested in submitting films should email zrocha@luc.edu by February 16. All submissions must be 3 minutes or less. Fiction and non-fiction stories are welcome. Filmmakers receive free admission to the event and after-party.)
